A Banker's Cultural Investment -- Oak Park Art League
January 8 and 9, 2009
The Oak Park Art League will be presenting a retrospective of James Eccles (1885-1983), an Oak Park impressionist painter who began his career as an artist after a 41-year stint as a local banker. The exhibit will bring together over 100 of Eccles' works gathered from collections in Indiana, Illinois and New Mexico, along with family-owned pieces. The exhibit will be open to the public on Friday, Jan. 9 from 7-10pm.

Marion Street Cheese Market will be providing artisan cheese, food and beverages during the special VIP preview, held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 from 5-7:30pm. Reservations for the VIP event ($25/ticket ... limited to the first 100 responses) can be taken by contacting the Oak Park Art League:

is a fantastic Chicago-based acoustic quartet that performs music from a variety of traditions including bluegrass, jazz and folk. They'll be playing on our small cafe stage on 1/10 and you should definitely come listen.
